Lemon-Lime Gel
Makes
about ¾ cup.
4
dates – pit removed and chopped
½
cup agave syrup nectar* - found in health food stores. It is usually carried by most
grocery stores in the sugar section- Ask
1
tbsp organic lime** zest- approximately the whole lime
2
tsp organic lemon** zest – approximately half a lemon
½
tsp dulse*** or dulse flakes. Found in health food,
Asian stores or check with your local grocery.
Sea
salt to taste – be sure to taste before bagging. The agave syrup is sweet and you want to
counter that with the salt.
In
a blender, combine all ingredients; process until blend reaches a gel-like
consistency
This
gel will keep for up to 3 days in the refrigerator, but its best when consumed
fresh.
Divide
into small plastic snack bags.
Cocoa Gel

about ¾ cup

tbsp organic lemon juice
2
tsp of cocoa powder (or carob powder)
2
tsp lemon zest
Sea
salt to taste
In
a blender, combine all ingredients; process until blend reaches a gel-like
consistency
This
gel will keep for up to 3 days in the refrigerator, but its best when consumed
fresh.
Divide
into small plastic snack bags.
*Please use organic
lemon/limes. There is a difference in
the taste and you especially want to avoid the chemicals in the skins of the
citrus fruit.
**Agave nectar comes from the blue
agave cactus. It is a slow release sugar
and when combined with dates is a useful fuel for your workout. Agave nectar (a natural sweetener) can be
used in place of honey or sugar in most of your recipes.
***Dulse a sea weed is packed
with minerals and contains naturally occurring electrolytes. Electrolytes allow our cells to stay hydrated
longer hence improving endurance.
